CBU Training and Services Overview

What Is the CBU?

The Capacity Building Unit (CBU) of the Workforce Services Branch facilitates training sessions throughout California. The mission of the CBU is to provide staff development training to California's workforce development community to enhance the competencies of the staff who administer workforce preparation programs.

Training sessions are provided at no cost to EDD Field Office staff, Local Workforce Investment Boards (LWIB), One-Stop operators and their partners. The CBU Training Catalogue contains a description of each workshop offered, and the Training Calendar contains the dates, locations, and contact information of scheduled training sessions, as well as other major workforce preparation training events.

Training sessions may be hosted by any workforce development partner or One-Stop operator. If you would like information on the requirements for hosting a training session, please call the CBU staff person listed for the training session of interest (see CBU Training Catalogue).

The CBU also provides Web-Based Training that you can access from your computer at your convenience. The training is interactive and is provided as an alternative to classroom training.
