Summary: Project Serve Vets, proposed by Imperial Valley Regional Occupation Program with the assistance from grant partners, proposes to meet the educational, job retention, employment and value added service needs of 90 Imperial County newly separated veterans. Goals of the project are to provide quality and efficient direct employment and training services, on-the-job training services, job placement in unsubsidized employment, and retention services to eligible veterans enabling them to improve their socio-economic situation quality of life. Employment will focus on two occupational areas, law enforcement and manufacturing. A local network delivery system will be created to assist veterans in counseling, mentoring and other services. |

Award Amount: $400,000 |
Summary: Managed Career Solutions, in partnership with organizations such as the American Medical Response, the San Gabriel Valley Occupational Center, the Los Angeles Job Corps, the Hollywood Adult School, the Los Angeles City College, the Los Angeles Trade Technical College, etc., will serve 200 recently separated veterans in the city and county of Los Angeles.
The Greater Los Angeles High-Wage High-Growth Initiative for recently separated veterans program provides 200 recently separated veterans customized training, on-the-job training, and industry driven skills upgrading to secure high-wage employment. The 200 recently separated veterans are provided career ladder advancement: 100 Homeland Security/EMT, 30 Healthcare, 10 Construction, and 60 other High-Wage Industries. The average wage at placement is above $14 an hour. The partners in this project shall have sustained capacity upon grant completion.

Summary: Interfaith Community Services proposes to assist 85 eligible recently separated veterans from the Marine Corps Camp Pendleton in finding and maintaining employment that will lead to sustainable livable wages and career advancement. Because our agency has operated the original Recently Separated Pilot Program 2005-06, we have improved the design of our earlier successful program by creating stronger agreements with the two North County One-Stop Career Centers, maximizing the excellent services of our Employment Development Department Disabled Veterans Outreach Program and Local Veterans Employment Representative staff and establishing a solid partnership with the Veterans Administration's Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder clinic. |

Summary: The Operation: Veterans Employment and Training Services Project is a collaborative endeavor dedicated to providing specialized services to recently-separated veterans transitioning to sustainable employment. This project is a collaborative effort between the Workforce Investment Boards of the County of Orange, the City of Anaheim, and the City of Santa Ana. This grant will allow for the provision of a comprehensive menu of employment services for 100 veterans including an Employment Transition Center located on site at the Joint Forces Training Base at Los Alamitos. |

Summary: The overall purpose of the "U.S. VETS Recently Separated Veterans Employment Program" is to develop and implement unique, creative, and innovative employment/training related services that enhance and facilitate the rapid re-employment of recently separated veterans.
